Who are our Students?

Lindisfarne students come from a wide range of backgrounds – different ages, church traditions, levels of professional or church experience, social backgrounds…

What binds us together is that we are all in the North East, and we all want to grow in our Christian life and understanding.

Meet Lynn, a Licensed Lay Minister trainee, as she talks about her experience of ministry training, in particular what it means for her to serve.

 

Will I fit in?

Each year our returning students work hard to welcome in new students. All new students are given a ‘buddy’ to help them get to know their way around. We run orientation and welcome events (especially in our first residential weekend together). It is a friendly and generous community.

 

Will I manage the study programme?

Some of our students have academic backgrounds. Some left school at 16. Whatever your level, we will work with you to make sure your time at college is rewarding and helpful.

 

Am I the only one who feels out of my depth?

No! Every year students tell us that it takes a while to believe they can do the course, while thinking that everyone else was finding it easy… . We are committed to making your time at college work for you, whatever your own situation.
