A Learning Community

At Lindisfarne College of Theology we are delighted to serve as a learning community for the Church in the North East. Part of our focus is on formation for the future: we are an Anglican college preparing people for Christian ministry across the whole breadth of the Church England. And part of our focus is on being people in formation here and now, and caught up in ministry here and now.

Involved in Ministry, on the ground, in the North East, here and now:

Together we are responding to God’s call to grow in faith by
• praying, worshiping and studying together
• serving in local places where God has put us
• working actively in our churches

The pages here on this ‘Community’ section of the website will introduce you to some of the ways we live and work as a learning community, supporting one another and serving the church.

Student Feedback

Here are some of the 2024-25 Student Survey comments reflecting on highlights of the experience of community life at LCT:

The worship kept me sane and going.

Shared formation with a wide range of people with different Anglican backgrounds

The encouragement, and support from the tutors and community. … God is so present in this place.

The application of theological learning to my ministerial context. This has resulted to changes in how we deliver ministry in the Parish.

Getting a lift – I would not have been able to do it without that

Fellowship and support from staff and students

The approachability of the lecturers
