Students may ask: Where can I find help and support during my time at LCT?

Each student has a personal tutor with whom they meet at least once a term. Students are also encouraged to talk to their local church leaders, who are often well placed to provide support in your local context.

Our chaplains help with the leading of worship at residential weekends, study Saturdays, and on teaching evenings. They are available for the personal support of all Lindisfarne students.

There is a strong spirit of mutual support among the student body. If you have any questions: just ask. There is probably someone who can relate to your situation and help talk it through with you.

‘Study Skills’ support

What if you are worried about coping with study?

You are not alone. Many of our students are returning to study after a long period away – or may never have studied formally at all. We are committed to working with you to make the most of your study expeirence.

• LCT has a flexible approach to learning that includes many strategies to make life easier for students.
• Our student handbook includes advice and sources of support for specific study skills.
• All students are encouraged to attend a study skills day early in their first term. We look at topics like reading too much or too little, taking notes, referencing the sources used.
• All students are given an induction tour of the Religious Resources Centre, which has bases at our Newcastle and Durham sites.

Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) and Disability support

LCT operates as an inclusive environment for all students.  A range of support is provided by the staff team, to provide the best possible learning experience for those who need some extra support. We have a nominated Learning Support Lead and a team of Learning Support Tutors.
